E/A BEEF
Our family has owned and operated a sheep ranch for nearly 90 years. While searching for a way to better utilize some of our lowland pasture and diversify our livestock operation, we purchased our first Aberdeen cattle in 2010.
After our initial purchase of six pairs, we found the American Aberdeen breed with their gentle disposition and smaller size a perfect fit for our smaller pastures. We bought more cows in 2011 and started focusing our energy on producing high quality grass fattened beef.
The frame size and easy going manner make them something that can be handled by all members of the family. We quickly found that they fatten faster and maintain excellent body condition without feeding grains. Our cattle produce a well marbled carcass with tender cuts in a smaller portion. The size of the cattle allows the consumer to purchase all cuts of beef in a package that can easily be stored and utilized by one family with average freezer space.
We are very proud of our Percentage American Aberdeen cattle and the quality grass fattened beef we produce.

Our Beef
Often times people are not interested in grass fattened beef because they have heard or had experience with it as dry and “gamey”. A standard sized yearling takes a lot longer to grow than our American Aberdeen cattle. An animal harvested while it is still growing has a tendency to have meat which is leaner and drier. Our cattle reach their adult size faster and begin to marble and put on fat sooner, even on a straight grass diet.
Our end product is tender, moist, and has a slightly more intense flavor than corn fed beef. Our customers are loyal and buy our product again and again. Once customers start eating our Grass fattened beef, the taste and the health benefits will make it difficult to go back to what they have been buying at the store.
